There goes the final whistle - Bayern have the points!
90' +3
The clocks tick down and we are into the final minute of stoppage time at the end of this game.
90'
J. Kimmich has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by J. Boateng.
Kimmich with a neat finish but the through ball from Boateng is one that all great number 10s would have been proud of.
KIMMICH WRAPS IT UP!!! Game, set and match - Bayern! The right-back is the furthest forward as he latches onto Boateng's precise through ball, before neatly rounding Sels and passing into the empty net. It rounds off a commanding opening win for the German champions.
89'
WORTH A GO! Robben goes for the spectacular as he attempts an audacious bicycle kick from a Bayern corner. However, the Dutchman just gets too much power on the ball and sends it over the crossbar.
87'
CHANCE! Sels denies Lewandowski from a tight angle but only at the expense of a corner, from which the ball breaks kindly for Muller. However, the substitute is unable to react quickly enough and can only head wide of the target.
85'
K. Coman enters the game and replaces J. Rodríguez.
James receives a warm receptio as he is given a rest and replaced by Kingsley Coman.
84'
H. Harbaoui enters the game and replaces Ł. Teodorczyk.
Anderlecht's final change sees Teodorczyk replaced by Hamdi Harbaoui.
83'
Teammate James has looked very impressive on his first start for Bayern. Of course, it was Ancelotti who brought the Colombian to Real Madrid following his marvellous performances at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Therefore, it is quite fitting that the Italian has taken the decision to try and rejuvenate James' career.
80'
SHIRTY! Replays show that Ribery was far from happy at being substituted, as he threw his jersey to the ground in anger and that will certainly not have pleased his manager.
78'
T. Müller enters the game and replaces F. Ribéry.
The other sees Ribery make way to be replaced by Thomas Muller.
Minute
Description
77'
J. Boateng enters the game and replaces Javi Martínez.
A double substitution coming up for Bayern. The first change sees Martinez make way for Jérôme Boateng.
74'
C. Tolisso gets yellow.
Shortly after being on the receiving the end of a tasty challenge by Teodorczyk, Tolisso appears to have revenge on his mind as he needlessly trips the advancing Chipciu and is shown a yellow card.
72'
SQUARE IT! Robben is furious with Lewandowski who, rather than lay the ball across the area for a certain tap-in, tried to cut back onto his right foot before being intercepted by the defender. The Pole's decision-making left a lot to be desired on that occasion.
69'
WHAT AN EFFORT! Robben gets the ball onto his left foot and suddenly lets fly from 30 yards with a rasping effort that fizzes inches over the crossbar with the keeper beaten. What a goal that would have been!
67'
NO GOAL! Seconds after James' shot is brilliantly turned away by Sels, Sule thinks he has headed home his first goal for Bayern. However, the central defender's joy is short-lived as he is penalised for a push in the area.
65'
Thiago Alcântara has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by J. Kimmich.
Kimmich provided a perfect cross that was simply begging to be attacked.
2-0!!! THIAGO DOUBLES THE LEAD! The unmarked Spaniard puts the finishing touches on the end of a sweeping move from the hosts, as he ghosts into the area to dispatch of Kimmich's cross beyond the helpless Sels.
62'
Everton loanee Onyekuru scored his first goals for Anderlecht in the 3-2 win over Lokeren last Friday, and he would love to find the net again with a priceless equaliser here.
59'
H. Onyekuru enters the game and replaces N. Stanciu.
Anderlecht make their second change with Stanciu going off to be replaced by Henry Onyekuru.
56'
GOOD SAVE! Sels does very well to deny Bayern a second goal, as he shows brilliant reflexes to tip Sule's header over the crossbar.
53'
N. Stanciu gets yellow.
Stanciu has his name taken for bringing down Robben just outside the area.
51'
That was so unlucky for the visitors, who were a coat of paint away from finding an equaliser at the Allianz Arena. Weiler shall be encouraging his players to keep pushing.
49'
OFF THE POST! The woodwork denies Stanciu and Anderlecht an equaliser! Neuer was beaten by the Romanian's effort, but the post came to his rescue as Bayern survived.
48'
GOOD TRY! Tolisso is the first player to try his luck with a powerful 25-yard effort that is beaten away by Sels.
46'
KICK-OFF! The referee blows his whistle and Anderlecht get the ball rolling once more.
45' +2
The referee blows his whistle to signal the end of the first half!
45' +1
Bayern go in search of a second before the break and force a corner but, following an acrobatic effort, Sels gratefully gathers.
43'
It is a given that, against sides of Bayern's calibre, you have to take your chances when they come. Weiler will be praying that Anderlecht get another opportunity like that in this match...
40'
WHAT A CHANCE! The visitors have just wasted a glorious chance to equalise! Dendoncker gets in behind the defence and pulls the ball back to the penalty spot, where Stanciu can only fire wide of the target.
38'
GOOD BLOCK! James threads a neat ball through for Robben to run onto. The Dutchman takes on Deschacht but the defenders does well to deflect his shot on goal behind for a corner.
36'
If this match was not already going to be difficult enough, it is worth noting that Anderlecht have failed to score away from home so far this season. They must buck that trend in order to leave the Allianz Arena with anything today.
33'
GOOD EFFORT! At the other end, the ball arrives for Trebel to strike from 25 yards out. He gets plenty of power and whip into his strike, but it is straight down the throat of Neuer.
32'
CLOSE! Tolisso goes for the spectacular by looking to place a 25-yard effort into the top corner and, in the end, it does not go too far over the crossbar.
29'
Bayern threaten to hit Anderlecht on the counter and Ribery has space to run into down the left flank. However, the final ball from Tolisso asks too much of him and Sels comes out to collect.
26'
D. Appiah enters the game and replaces A. Najar.
The left-back is unable to continue and Dennis Appiah comes on in his place.
25'
More cause for concern for Anderlecht as Najar stays down following a Bayern attack. Having already gone down to 10 men, they could be forced into making their first change of the match.
23'
WASTED! There are three or four players surrounding the ball before James eventually steps up to strike. Although, it is not one of his finer efforts and sails aimlessly over the crossbar.
22'
A. Trébel gets yellow.
Bayern are awarded a free-kick as Tolisso is on the receiving end of a rash challenge from Trebel, who is the latest player to have his name taken.
20'
NO PENALTY! There are calls for the referee to point to the spot again as Robben goes down under the challenge of Najar. The Italian official is not interested on this occasion, though.
18'
Ribery continues to ask questions of Anderlecht down the left flank. The Frenchman gets the ball into the box, but Spajic is well-placed to make a vital interception at the expense of a corner.
15'
The whole complexion of the match could well have changed in those few seconds. Weiler had clearly set his team out with a view to containing Bayern today and restored Kums to the starting line-up for that very reason. However, following his sending-off, the visitors face a huge uphill battle from here...
12'
Penalty goal scored by R. Lewandowski for Bayern Munich!
NO PROBLEM, LEWANDOWSKI!!! Bayern hit the front! The Polish striker steps up and calmly sends Sels the wrong way for what is his seventh goal of the season already! The hosts lead and it promises to be a long night for Anderlecht.
11'
S. Kums goes off after a red card!
F. Ribéry gets yellow.
PENALTY TO BAYERN!!! And Anderlecht are down to 10 men! A long ball over the top of the defence is brilliantly controlled by Lewandowski, who is hauled to the ground by Kums. The midfielder leaves the referee with no choice but to point to the spot, while also producing a straight red card.
Ribery was booked in the midst of all of that - assumingly for trying to influence the referee into making a decision regarding Kums.
9'
CHANCE! The Colombian should've broken the deadlock! James ghosts into the area to meet Ribery's perfect cross, but can only head straight at Sels. Either side of the Newcastle United loanee and Bayern would be in front.
8'
James is involved again but, this time, after popping up on the left hand side. He sends another ball into the box but none of his teammates attack it and Sels gratefully gathers.
6'
Bayern look to settle into their rhythm and spray the ball around the field. It comes to James, who tries to whip a dangerous delivery into the box but overhits it and Anderlecht can relax with a goal-kick.
3'
An early worry for Anderlecht as Teodorczyk limps to the touchline following a strong challenge from Sule. The visitors will be hoping it is just a knock and that the Polish striker can continue.
1'
KICK-OFF! Paolo Tagliavento of Italy is our referee today. He blows his whistle and Bayern get the match underway.
Meanwhile, Rene Weiler has also made four alterations to the Anderlecht side that started their 3-2 win over Lokeren last Friday. Matz Sels replaces Frank Boeckx in goal and Sven Kums is brought into a five-man defence alongside another returnee in Alexandru Chipciu, while Nicolae Stanciu comes in on the right wing of a four-man midfield behind lone striker Lukasz Teodorczyk. Boeckx drops to the bench, as do Ivan Obradovic and Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru.
Bayern suffered a surprise 2-0 defeat at Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga on Saturday and Carlo Ancelotti has made four changes for today's starting line-up. Niklas Sule gets the nod over Mats Hummels to partner Javi Martinez in the heart of defence, while James Rodriguez makes his first start for the club in a mouth-watering attacking trio that also includes the returning Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery behind the in-form Robert Lewandowski up top. Manuel Neuer captains the side as Hummels, Sebastian Rudy, Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman all drop to the bench.
The champions of Germany and Belgium go head to head on day one of the new UEFA Champions League season. Anderlecht are returning to the group phase after a two-year absence but, having not won away in the competition since December 2005, could hardly face a tougher opening test than Bayern, who have won 16 of their last 17 home matches in the event.
Hello everyone and welcome to our LIVE text coverage as the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League season kicks off today! The Allianz Arena will be our focus on the opening matchday, as Bayern Munich welcome Anderlecht in Group B - it's good to have your company!
HERE THEY COME! The teams are making their way out onto the field and kick-off is just moments away...
HALF-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 1-0 ANDERLECHT
Robert Lewandowski's penalty is the difference between the two sides at the break but, with Anderlecht down to 10 men, Bayern Munich could well capitalise on having the extra man in the second half.
The teams are making their way back out onto the field and the second half is imminent.
FULL-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 3-0 ANDERLECHT
That's all for today! Thank you for following our LIVE text coverage of the UEFA Champions League - hope you've enjoyed it. Until next time, see you soon!
Goals from Robert Lewandowski, Thiago Alcantara and Joshua Kimmich provided the perfect start for Bayern Munich, who opened Group B with a commanding 3-0 victory over Anderlecht. In all fairness, the Belgians battled well despite having to play just under 80 minutes with 10 men following the dismissal of Sven Kums, but it was always going to be an uphill battle for them at the Allianz Arena.
